  • Kiwanis is an global organization whose primary goal is to help children.
  • We are funded by the generous donations from our community.  All money raised in Laramie stays in Laramie.
  • You may know us from Stars of Tomorrow, our annual Special Needs Kids Christmas Party, Coats for Kids, food drives, Freedom has a Birthday snow cones booth, Easter Egg Hunts, or the Christmas Parade.
  • We sponsor youth groups at all school levels.
  • We have a 501-3C Foundation that supports various groups and projects.
  • We have lunch meetings twice each month that feature interesting speakers from the community.

Local Service Projects

We are a service group that focuses on helping children.  In the past year, we have donated a new freezer to the Linford Elementary Food Pantry, a new washer & dryer to the ACSD1 facilities where underprivileged families can do their laundry, an indoor batting cage for the LHS Softball Team, new coats to all school-aged children who needed them, given several scholarships, and had events with organizations like Laramie Interfaith, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Family Promise, and Cathedral Home.

Fundraisers & Scholarships

It requires quite a bit of money to support all of our projects.  We have an annual fund-raising campaign in the spring but will always welcome individual donations throughout the year.  We give out several scholarships each year to participants in our youth groups.  We also have a special scholarship at LCCC.  It is the Royce Lane Memorial Scholarship.  It was named for our long-time club secretary, who passed away.  Interested LCCC students should ask about it through the financial office.  

Community

Laramie Kiwanis Club has been a pillar in the community for over 100 years.  We are composed of people from all walks of life who are committed to helping in the community.  We have retirees, business leaders, teachers, and a variety of others in the club.  Please feel free to contact any of us about joining.  There is no application fee to join.  There is an application form on this website that can be downloaded and submitted.
